Beverly Mae James, age 88, a cherished member of the Delran, NJ community for many years, peacefully passed away on February 5, 2024, surrounded by her loving family, whom she affectionately referred to as Team Nana. Born on April 14, 1935, in Queens, NY, she was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Gertrude Coots, her beloved husband of 53 years, Richard A James, and her sister, Audrey Cooper. Beverly is survived by her devoted children: Donna Franus (Tim), David James (Jen), and Diane Coots (Larry), as well as her adoring grandchildren: Alicia Franus-Bell, Tyler James (Fiancé Cari), Madison James, Briana Gonzalez, Lennin Gonzalez, Santito Hernandez, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Beverly was a loving mother, dedicated teacher, devoted wife, and nurturing homemaker who found happiness in every aspect of her life. She approached each day with a positive outlook, even until her final moments. Beverly cherished the simple pleasures of life, often enjoying leisurely walks in her neighborhood, engaging in heartfelt conversations with both friends and strangers. Her home was a haven of warmth and hospitality, where laughter, camaraderie, and cherished memories were abundant. Known for her generous spirit, Beverly consistently extended kindness and support to all who crossed her path, always with a beaming smile and a gracious “thank you.” Her legacy lives on in the joy she imparted to others, her appreciation for nature, and her unwavering love.
Beverly’s interests were varied and brought her immense joy, including spending time outdoors, tending to her garden, baking delicious treats, leisurely walks, swimming, sewing, playing the piano, singing, and treasured moments spent in the company of family and friends.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate the life of Beverly James on 4/14/24 12pm-4pm at the Maple Shade Lions Club located at 37 N Lippincott Avenue, Maple Shade Township, NJ 08052.
