Calvin Sims Sr., aged 68, passed away on March 20 2024. He is survived by his wife Veronica Evans, her son, Anthony, her daughter, Naomi, grand children, Kyri and Antonio and his former spouse Angelika Sims, their children, his daughter, Brianna Eason and spouse Marcus, grand children, Quentin, Jordan, and Mya Eason and his son, Calvin Sims Jr. and his wife, Soari. He is also survived by his mother, Seleda Martin, his brother, Gregory and wife Carol and his sister, Veronica and husband Andrew, along with many more family and friends.
Born on January 3, 1956, in Miami FL, Calvin was raised in Orlando FL. After high school, he served in the United States Army. He later earned his Associates degree from Burlington County College and transitioned to the New Jersey Department of Corrections, where he dedicated 25 years of service before retiring.
Known by various endearing names such as Dead Eye, Jesse, Sims, Cal, Brother X, Dad, and his most treasured "Pop-pop" and "Andaddy," Calvin was a remarkable soul. His presence brought joy and laughter wherever he went. Charismatic and carefree, he shared infectious energy that made every moment unforgettable. It did not matter what you were doing, his presence made for the best company and experience. Calvin loved life, his favorite pastime was fishing and he cherished his family, especially his grandchildren. Calvin knew the secret to life and he shared his heart with the world.
His absence will be deeply felt and his memory deeply cherished. In his memory a memorial service will be held for his 69th birthday January 2025. Details to be determined.
