István (Steve) Galambos passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 15, 2024 in Cherry Hill, NJ. He was 84.
Steve was born on January 7, 1940 in Salgótarján, Hungary to István Galambos and Irén Gizella Galambos. At the age of 17, he immigrated to the United States. On May 6, 1978 Steve married Rebecca Thomas in Philadelphia, PA. They enjoyed 41 years of marriage.
Steve was a good hearted man who treasured the small pleasures of life with his family and friends. He was employed for 25 years at the Jewish Federation Thrift Shop where he made strong connections within the community and developed a liking for antiques and furniture. He also had a love for soccer as both a player and spectator.
Steve was preceded in death by his wife Rebecca, parents István and Irén, brothers Attila and Gellért. He is survived by his sisters Hedvig, Ágnes, and Orsolya, sons Thomas, Peter, and Marton, daughter Brigitta, grandchildren Matthew, Ashley, Ellie, James, Preston, Mason, Trevor, and Emerson.
Services are yet to be finalized. Spring 2024.
