John Francis Bonner, of Newfield, passed away on August 24
th
, 2022, at the age of 60. He was born in Woodbury on September 20, 1961, to William F. Bonner and Esther E. Bonner (nee Bruhl).
After graduating from Kingsway Regional High School, John studied Astronomy at the University of Arizona before enlisting in the US Navy. He served aboard the USS Enterprise, and travelled the world during this time.
He worked as an electrician for more than 30 years and was a member of the United Steel Workers Local 219M, where he served as Vice-President at his local shop for the past 6 years.
Throughout the years, John was an avid sports fan of Philly sports teams. Whenever there was a game going on, John was following it. He also enjoyed sailing, gaming and all things Marvel and could converse on almost any topic. His final act as a generous spirit was to serve as a tissue donor to give life to others.
Predeceased by his parents and his sister, Patricia Bonner Calhoun, he is survived by his loving sister, Margaret Bonner Harris (Randy) of Bristol, Tennessee, nephew Jason Harris (Preston) of Marietta, GA and niece Lauren Harris of Greenville, SC, to whom he was a beloved and very cool uncle.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date for family and close friends.
