Mary K. Watkins

Mary Kathleen Watkins (nee Schad), of Mount Laurel, NJ, passed away peacefully with her daughter, boyfriend, and a friend by her side on July 9, 2024. She was 65 years old.

Mary was the beloved mother of Christina Watkins; cherished Mom Mom of Keira and Tommy; Mary is survived by her Mother, Helen Schad. Devoted girlfriend to John; loving sister of Claude, Chris, Helen, Michael, and the late Noel; dear aunt of Angelique and Michelle. Mary will be greatly missed by her family.

Mary had an accomplished career. She started out as a medical technologist and worked in a kidney transplant team. She furthered her education at Hahnemann University and earned an BS RN degree and was a nurse for several years. Later she worked at various drug and Biotech companies eventually retiring as an associate director. She had a kind and understanding nature and made many friends. Mary had a great love of animals and was an environmentalist. She loved her Golden Retrievers, King and Buddy. She was an avid bird watcher and volunteered to monitor and protect nesting Bald Eagles.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at South Jersey Cremation Company at Givnish Funeral Home, 398 East Main Street, Marlton, NJ on Wednesday, July 17th from 10 am to 11 am. A memorial service will begin at 11 am. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mary may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, www.pancan.org.
