Murlean Murphy Galloway Marshall

December 26, 1948 — July 25, 2021

Murlean was born in Ayden, Pitt County, North Carolina to James Randolph Galloway (D) and Millie Jane Murphy Galloway (D).  Murlean was the eighth child of ten siblings.  She was married to William (Billie) Marshall (D) for thirty-six years and had one child Sharonda Marshall which resulted to 3 grandchildren, Aaron Marshall, Brittany Bey and Don Jack Johnson Jr. and one great grandchild Jayden Christopher Bey.  Murlean siblings who loved her dearly, Carolyn Famularo, Vergia Younger, Marion Galloway, Shirley Ebron, Billy Galloway, James Galloway Jr (D), Geraldine Galloway Boone (D), Aretha Galloway Richardson (D) and Levon Galloway (D).

Murlean attended grammar school Greenville Elementary in North Carolina and her parent relocated to Jersey City New Jersey where she completed her education at Henry Snyder High School with honors. Murlean worked as a paralegal for many years on Wall Street in New York.

Murlean decided to go back to college, Community College of Philadelphia where she received her Associates in Special Education because she wanted to assist with children. She was a studious individual enjoying reading, writing poetry, decorating, gardening and cooking.  Everyone admired her talent for baking cakes, especially her pistachio cake.

During her earlier years Murlean became a follower of the Jehovah Witness organization and continued to have faith and belief in the resurrection of life.  When her husband passed, she decided to relocate to the State of Texas with her daughter to start a new foundation.  Upon return to visit her sister in New Jersey she became ill.  All though we the family are sadden we know that she is in the protection of God.  She is resting with peace.
